En el escenario de la sociedad de la información las tecnologías de la información y de la comunicación tienen el rol fundamental de ser los medios técnicos que facilitan los intercambios de conocimientos y experiencias entre las personas.
Así, las posibilidades de relación entre comunidades se amplía notoriamente y abre caminos a nuevas experiencias comunicacionales antes impensadas.
La educación, no ajena a estas potencialidades, intenta incorporar y sistematizar la aplicación pedagógica de estas herramientas en su tarea diaria, atendiendo a acompañar y a favorecer el desarrollo de nuevas habilidades y competencias en la comunidad educativa.
La expansión de las redes de comunicación digital y en especial la red Internet en los últimos años permite en la actualidad el desarrollo de proyectos que trascienden a las comunidades particulares y que pueden ayudar en la creación de un nuevo concepto de sociedad donde sea posible mediante el diálogo y el conocimiento de sus individuos aunar esfuerzos en pos de valores como la solidaridad y el respeto.
Más allá de las barreras naturales del espacio y el tiempo, la comunicación por medios digitales permite saltar distancias y horarios, posibilitando la unión de pueblos y culturas y el trabajo conjunto de los mismos.
The information technology and communications function as key technical tools within society enabling people to interchange their knowledge and
experiences.
Thus, potential relationships among communities are sharply on the increase and unprecedented communicative experiences
arise.
The education system, well aware of this, attempts to implement and systematize the pedagogical application of these new tools into its
day-to-day activities with the purpose of following and helping to the development of new skills and competences within the educational
community.
The expansion of the digital communication networks and The Internet throughout the last years currently leads to the development of projects across the particular communities and helps to the creation of a new concept of society
where, owing to the communication and knowledge of its
people, it is possible to gather all the effort made in view of significant values such as solidarity and
respect.
Far beyond space and time, digital communication enables people to skip
distances, timetables and gives rise to the unity of
people, cultures and their work together.

educativa Argentina y sus pares que vivan en países
del hemisferio norte, cercanos a la zona polar. Si

The
main participant members of the project are students
between 10 and 17 years old who are attending 7th year
EGB ut to 3rd Year Polimodal in the Argentine
education system and their peers of the same age who
live in countries from the Northern Hemisphere, close
